Sibelius in Korpo
“Sibelius in Korpo” is based on the fact that the young Sibelius spent two summers in Korpo in 1886 and 1887.He wrote a lot of music during those summers that lives on to this day. In summer 1887 the family lived in the parish village and the young Janne and his siblings made music in the Korpo Gård lounge, where the modern concerts are also held.
This year’s theme is “Sibelius and Grieg”. The Saturday evening concert will be held in Norrskata.
The Saturday night concert and the Sunday lecture and main concert will take place at Korpo Gård. Visiting soloist: Jutta Holmberg
